After the main draw, one Complementary number is drawn from the remaining 43 numbers, and one Reintegro number from 0 to 9 is drawn from a separate drum. There are 5 main prize tiers, plus Reintegro, which refunds the ticket price. Draws are held every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday at 21:40 (Madrid time).

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Complementary work?
After the 6 main numbers are drawn, an additional number called Complementary is selected from the remaining 43 numbers. It is used only for the 2nd tier (5+Complementary). For other tiers, only the 6 main numbers count.
What happens if no one hits the jackpot?
If no one wins the 1st category, the jackpot rolls over to the next draw. La Primitiva has no fixed maximum jackpot cap. If the jackpot grows very large over many draws, SELAE may apply a mandatory payout rule and distribute the jackpot to winners in the next lower category.
Are La Primitiva prizes taxed?
In Spain, lottery prizes are subject to a special 20% tax on the portion above €40,000. Prizes up to €40,000 are tax-exempt. SELAE applies the withholding before payout.
